The team at Autism Parents Together are pleased to announce that we have a new charity volunteer.
Please welcome Mari-Anne Regan, we are so delighted she has joined us. Here is a little bit about Mari-Anne.
“I have 2 daughters, Harriet who is 3 and Ellie who is 5. Ellie is non-verbal and was diagnosed with Autism at 3.5.
I’ve worked in hospitality and leisure management for over 10 years, a job that enabled me to do lots of roles and work all over the country. I loved my job and all the opportunities it gave me, but it just doesn’t fit with my family anymore, so I’ve been retraining and working part-time.
As much as our journey to diagnosis was relatively straight forward, family life with a dash (or heap) of Autism certainly isn’t!
My wonderful family, the journey we’ve had, the inspirational people I have met and the amazing support networks like this one, have inspired me to do everything I can to make a difference wherever I can.
I’m now working part time, training as a SEND Teaching Assistant, part of the steering group for Redcar and Cleveland Parent Carer Forum and very privileged to be able to help support Autism Parents Together in whatever way I can!
