I’m Ben, I’m the Treasurer for Autism Parents together. I have 3 boys (aged 15, 11, 9), the eldest and youngest both have diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Disorder and other co-morbid conditions.

In addition to volunteering with the charity, I work as Claims Manager in the Special Investigation Unit for a large insurance company, I am also former President and current committee member of the Insurance Institute of Middlesbrough.

Nicola and I found ourselves in the ASD world in 2009, when our eldest was highlighted as potentially having autism. I have since worked hard to increase my understanding of ASD and have been involved in raising money for several autism charities, setting up a Workability group with my employer and have worked with our local MP to improve aspects of the diagnosis process.

I’m my spare time I enjoy running, reading, films and photography.
